The Golden Ukrainian Folk Ensemble was founded in 2024 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Ben Batchelder (Ukrainian Village Voices, Miriam's Pickle Factory, Folk Camp Canada, The Jacqueline Hopkins Choir). Batchelder has studied Ukrainian instrumental music in the United States, Canada and in Ukraine under sopilka masters Maksim Berezhniuk and Mikhailo Tafiychuk.

Ensemble Zoloto first performed at the 2025 Zlatne Utse Golden Festival leading dances taught by Canadian ethnochoreologist Anastasia Fyk.

To this day, the group carries the mission of playing traditional Ukrainian dance tunes from all regions of Ukraine and teaching dances to people of all ages and abilities.
